Nigerians imitate Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s dressing to celebrate her emergence as WTO Director-General

Following the successful appointment of former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, making her the first woman and African to lead the organization, Nigerians have taken to social media to celebrate her in a unique way.

Using the hash tag #BeLikeNgoziChallenge on twitter, Nigerians share photos of themselves dressed in African print and headgear that is peculiar to Ngozi Iweala.

Kemi Filani recalls that Ngozi Iweala’s WTO DG confirmation happened at the General Council’s special meeting on Monday, after a thorough selection process involving eight qualified candidates from around the world.
