He asked social media users what they can buy with such an amount of money today and many shared their opinions

A Nigerian man, Ayo Ojeniyi, has taken people on a trip down memory lane after sharing a photo of a Beetle car that was sold for N3,908.40 in 1982.
Ojeniyi also shared the receipt of the car purchase and had a question for people, what can one buy with such an amount of money today.

Reacting to the photo, a Facebook user identified as Aliyu Hamagam said the minimum wage in 1982 was N120, suggesting that a Beetle car was expensive back in the day.

“In 1982, the national minimum wage was only N120. So you can understand what it means for one to raise about N4000 for a Beetle car.”
